The New Green Savings (NZÚ) program is a key support for Czech households transitioning to environmentally friendly housing. In 2025, significant changes are coming to bring green technologies closer to even more interested parties. Easier access to subsidies, a broader range of supported projects, and increased support for socially disadvantaged households are just some of the innovations paving the way for savings and energy self-sufficiency.
NEWS AND CHANGES IN 2025
The planned adjustments to the New Green Savings program respond to the needs of households and current sustainability challenges. What will change? In the upcoming phase, you will be able to choose from two subsidy titles depending on the scope of renovation:
Repair Grandma’s House – Comprehensive Renovation
The program supports comprehensive renovations of family homes with the condition of optimal insulation of the building. All other measures can also be added as before. Within this program, you can get a favorable loan from banks and building societies. There is also a bonus of CZK 50,000 for each dependent child.
New Green Savings Light – Partial Renovation
The two existing sub-programs, New Green Savings Standard and Light, will merge into one, under the name New Green Savings Light. This program provides support for partial or combined measures (whether it’s insulation, replacement of non-ecological heating, installation of photovoltaics, efficient water heating, recuperation, or building green roofs, rain or gray water management, charging stations for electric vehicles). The program unifies the conditions of both existing programs while maintaining increased support of up to CZK 250,000 to cover 80% of insulation costs.
1. Easier and Faster Access to Subsidies
The bureaucracy associated with subsidy applications has long been perceived as a barrier. In 2025, the process will be significantly simplified:
- Digitization of applications: A new online portal will allow quick submission of applications and tracking their status in real time.
- Simplified conditions: Fewer required documents and easier project implementation verification.
2. Higher Subsidies for Low-Income Households
Low-income households will have the opportunity to access:
- Up to 95% of project implementation costs.
- Guaranteed financial advances upfront, eliminating the need for personal savings.
This step aims to include a broader spectrum of the population that previously could not afford ecological renovations.
3. Expansion of Supported Projects
- Support for community projects, such as shared solar power plants or community insulation initiatives.
- Financing energy improvements for rental housing, allowing tenants to benefit from the program as well.
4. Incentives for Savings in Urban Areas
Special emphasis will be placed on urban areas where subsidy uptake has not been as popular. Advantages will be provided, for example, to apartment buildings incorporating solar systems or improving building energy efficiency.
Why Invest Now?
The year 2025 will also bring higher support for projects implemented within a short timeframe. Subsidies will also be available retroactively for projects completed in the previous two years.
New Green Savings is a great opportunity to reduce housing costs, contribute to climate protection, and increase the value of your property. The year 2025 will bring positive changes to simplify access to subsidies and open new possibilities for thousands of households. If you’ve been hesitating until now, now is the perfect time to start planning! We are here to help you with quality and sustainable insulation for your home.
